KANE’s story is one of dreams, music, and an unbreakable friendship. FORESEE is proud to have been entrusted with the task of translating this genuine stories into a visual masterpiece that does justice to the band’s indomitable spirit and legacy.

“KANE – A Story Recorded” stands as a testament to the band’s enduring legacy. Streaming on Videoland from September 25th, the four-part series offers fans and newcomers alike an in-depth exploration into the makings of a national pop sensation, their adventures, trials, triumphs, and personal drama’s.

Project Overview
A documentary series focusing on the unparalleled journey of KANE, one of the Netherlands’ most iconic music bands. Built around the never-before-seen private recordings from the band’s founders, Dinand Woesthoff and Dennis van Leeuwen, the documentary “KANE – A Story Recorded” provides an introspective look into the highs and lows that shaped the band’s legacy.

The Challenge
KANE’s meteoric rise to fame, their unprecedented national success, the elusive dream of international recognition, and their sudden and unexpected end in 2014 left fans and music enthusiasts with lingering questions. With over 100 hours of private footage at our disposal, the challenge for FORESEE was to weave a narrative that did justice to the band’s rich history while answering some of the fans’ most pressing queries.

The FORESEE Approach

Harnessing Authenticity: utilizing the vast amount of raw, honest, and intense private recordings, we embarked on a journey to create a documentary in true Kane style, reflecting the very essence of their music and journey.

Balancing Perspectives: beyond the founders’ narrative, we integrated insights from key figures from the band’s heyday, including former manager Edwin Jansen, past band members Cyril Directie and Martijn Bosman, prominent figures from the international music industry, like Sara Silver and Tim Palmer and even Dinand’s wife, Lucy Woesthoff.

Crafting a Comprehensive Narrative: our aim was not only to showcase the band’s rise and influence but to also address the band’s sudden discontinuation, a question that had loomed large for KANE’s fans. By incorporating Dinand and Dennis’s firsthand accounts, we sought to provide clarity to the mystery that had surrounded their decision to stop in 2014.
