“Caroline” is an enthralling narrative showcasing resilience, determination, and an unwavering passion. During the buildup to what was dubbed ‘the most exhilarating Dutch elections ever,’ FORESEE gained unprecedented access to Caroline van der Plas, leader of the BBB party. This access culminated in a deeply personal portrait of a woman who remains steadfast in her convictions, even during challenging times.

The story will be available for streaming on Videoland starting January 18th, 2024, highlighting FORESEE’s dedication to presenting authentic stories. It emphasizes the challenges, trust, and journalistic integrity essential in crafting a compelling narrative. We are immensely proud to share this remarkable story with the world.

Project Overview
The documentary “Caroline” aims to encapsulate the essence of Caroline van der Plas’s leadership, characterized by transparency and authenticity. Over six months leading to the elections, we sought to explore the sincerity and transparency of her actions and words in both public and private realms. This two-episode documentary provides a unique perspective, portraying the BBB party leader in both personal and professional lights.

Journalist Jaïr Ferwerda played a crucial role in our team and the production. His extensive network and connections within Dutch politics were key in facilitating our work. This access allowed us to capture intimate, behind-the-scenes moments, offering viewers a deep insight into Caroline’s leadership journey.

The Challenge
The documentary faced a significant challenge when Caroline encountered an unauthorized biography of her life. This incident was a turning point in building trust between our team and Caroline, occurring at a time when her trust in the media was particularly fragile. Remarkably, without having seen any of our footage or edits, she entrusted us to narrate her story during one of her life’s most vulnerable and critical phases.

The FORESEE Approach
“Caroline” aims to maintain a journalistic and independent approach while offering a close and personal view of Caroline. We maintained a healthy, objective distance throughout production. Our team strictly adhered to a policy of non-communication and discretion regarding their experiences. Timely notifications of significant events related to the party, often before they hit the national news, allowed the documentary to offer an insider’s view on the events beyond the media coverage.
